At 18, Victoria native Jasmine Y. already has some impressive modeling gigs under her belt. No, the young beauty hasn't booked Chanel runway - yet - but one experience shines forth clearly in her memory. "Seeing a little girl posing in front of six life-sized cutouts of me in a mall in Singapore has definitely been a one of the more heart-warming moments so far," she says with a smile.

Jasmine started out in modeling only six months ago by chance. While in her local café with a few friends, she spotted a poster for the recently-launched Vancouver island-based modeling agency Edge Models. The company was recruiting new, fresh faces and Jasmine decided to "..give it a shot." But her success belies such a modest statement. She has already worked in New York, Paris, and Singapore logging credits such as Levi's Jeans, GQ (Taiwan), Marie Claire, Elle (Italy) and French Vogue. Shots by renown photographers such as Wayne Mayser, Chun Kai and Rayn McGinley are in her portfolio. She has also worked many runway shows including Halston and made her TV debut on Project Runway. Her agency couldn't be more pleased with her success stating, "Jasmine is definitely an Edge favorite! Booking the Levi's campaign the first day after arriving in New York was no surprise and she continues to show her star potential. We have every confidence that after next season she will be a household name!"

As a Canadian-born model of Chinese descent, Jasmine looks up to ethnic models who have made it in the industry, citing Du Juan and Lakshmi Menon as inspirations. In much the same way that Du and Lakshmi inspire her, she in turn has inspired that little girl in Singapore. What would be her dream job? "A Vogue cover, Chanel runway or designer campaign," were high on her list.

While her future goal to attend university and study biology will someday take her away from modeling, for now Jasmine is firmly focused on the fashion world and is well on her way to making her mark on the industry.
