The camera loves twenty-year old Vancouver model Nicole and she loves the camera! Vancouver photographers David MacGillivray and Taylor James, who have worked with and encouraged her in these early stages of her career, both agree that she "models like a creature". She possesses the modeling instincts and the confidence of a veteran along with a chameleon-like ability that is captured throughout her portfolio. What isn't captured in her photos is just how she got discovered.

After graduating high school, Nicole sent in amateur digital photos to Mode Models International, a chic, ethical model management company that grooms their models to be the best in the world. They recognized a unique raw beauty that could easily be marketed internationally and she was immediately signed to the agency, but the "dream come true" story doesn't stop there! Never underestimate the cliché of 'being at the right place at the right time'. Scheduled for her usual day of work at a local Coquitlam coffee shop, she got ready with "little care and minimal effort". She applied her "never leave home without it mascara" (her usual only stitch of make-up) and felt satisfied that she had managed to arrive at that "fine line between disgusting and somewhat decent". She made it into work with seconds to spare, brushing past a man who immediately took notice of the 5'10 beauty and asked her, "Have you ever modeled before?"

Nicole suddenly found herself New York bound. She remembers, "…I was so nervous the night before, I woke up every hour on the hour afraid I would miss the appointment but I didn't. I showed up early, rode the elevator with three tall Russian models who were so pretty and perfect, and here I was this little Canadian girl. I was so intimidated but everyone was so nice and welcoming the minute I walked in that I forgot how nervous I was and now I was just totally excited!". Following the meeting she hit the New York City streets for the first time ever and realized that "this was really happening". She shares, "I had waited for this moment for so long! …Being scouted is a crucial part of career success for a model; I feel my journey has now begun! I want to be the face for international ad campaigns! I want this! I love all things fashion. I see myself not just modeling, but learning all areas of the industry - photography, styling, maybe even design a label, I really want this and it's happening." While Mode Models is busy finalizing an international agent for her, she continues to develop her modeling skills on the local scene.

With goals of living in New York, gracing the cover of Italian Vogue, working with world famous photographers like Steve Meisel & Chadwick Tyler and walking international runways for designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Nicole is determined and focused in every step she takes. She is well on her way to seeing her dream of international success come true. It's only a matter of time.
