Mar. 1 - Apr. 30 Philanthropy at 1854 W. 4th Ave. Philanthropy is the latest pop up shop by Vancouver retailer Deb Nichol. Operated by The Latest Scoop, it is a combined effort of industry friends that make it possible. Clothing, furniture, samples, slight seconds, home d‚cor items, sports gear - whatever is new & unused is donated and sold through Philanthropy. 80% of net profits are donated to local charities (20% is used to by discounted products to supplement inventory. Together, in 2 stores, $50,000 has been raise in a total of 16 weeks! Please help us help our local community!

Mar. 8 Impact: An Event for Change at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia (801 W. Georgia St.) As Dress for Success Vancouver's annual major fund raising event, the evening will offer a mix of philanthropy and entertainment, where guests have the chance to win special door prizes, bid on exciting live auction packages, an irresistible raffle prize, all while enjoy fine wines and hors d'oeuvres, and hear inspirational stories from the women of Dress for Success Vancouver. Mar. 8 - Sep. 23 Art Deco Chic at the Museum of Vancouver () On display will be a collection of vintage Art Deco garments curated by Ivan Sayers and Claus Jahnke of the Original Costume Museum Society. The museum will also be running an Art Deco Challenge for design students (Deadline May 15th) to create an illustration for a garment inspired by the exhibition. The chosen finalist will be given a bursary to create their garment and it will be on display in the museum from September 1-23. Mar. 15 An Intimate Evening with Sarah J. Symonds at the Jacqueline Conoir Boutique Studio (164 W. Fifth Ave.) Join Sarah J.Symonds, world-renowned author and relationships expert for an evening of inspiration and modern glamour. Sarah will speak about her time as 'the other woman' to famous Gordan Ramsey as well as her highly anticipated new television series on SliceTM, premiering in Fall 2012. As part of this special evening, guests will be able to get a sneak preview of the new and exciting designs the team at Jacqueline Conoir is preparing for Sarah to wear on this show as well as enjoy an intimate 'after-hours' browsing experience. Mar. 20 Theorem Nouveau at Performance Works (Granville Island). The beauty of the universe is captured for a single night at the John Casablancas Institute's Theorem Nouveau fashion show. Fashion graduates will be showing off their skills as stylists, designers, and conceptual engineers while a silent auction and liquor sales will be raising funds for Vancouver's Covenant House. Mar. 23-25 Fraser Valley Bead Show at the Executive Plaza Hotel (405 North Rd., Coquitlam).This is the largest bead show in Western Canada, and the only show of its kind in BC. An evening of fashion celebrating the accomplishments of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University 2012 Fashion Design Graduates.
